For the NIL Summit afterparty, we wanted to achieve the “glam cam” look without giant robot. Traditionally, a red carpet “glam cam” is done with a big fancy camera mounted on a big fancy robot that can achieve the smooth motion while filming in slow motion. We wanted to do it handheld with a gimbal and speed ramp in post. We also knew on the night that there could be HUNDREDS of people coming through, and we wanted to turn around the videos in near-real time for the athletes. So we knew we needed a team. We ended up bringing along a slew of editors, one head editor with 3 editors under them working in a back room, and all night we were running cards back and forth to them. In the meantime, we had the athletes scan a QR code linked to a drive, so that when they refreshed in an hour their fully-edited video was ready for them! 100+ videos in only 3 hours.
