The first, of what I hope of many, initiatives to be approved and activated! . Starting with Read Across America month, we have issued a challenge to the 6th graders of Central Middle School in Quincy, MA., right across the street from our home stadium. The challenge is to read as many books as they can throughout the month of March, and see how many they can accomplish! After finishing a book, the student will be able to sign their name and title of the book, on a logo card that will be posted up in the school's hallways. We want to see how many logos they can get up there, and how far they can have it go! The winning class (class who reads the most books) will win an exciting prize from the Brigade! šŸ›”ļøšŸ“š . Initiatives like this are important, not only to promote literacy with students, but to develop relationships between a professional sports team and the local community. ā¤ļøšŸˆ .
