Pictured are members of the Douglass College Afro-American House from the 1970 student yearbook. The Afro-American house, located on the Gibbons campus, was established in 1969-1970 as a residential alternative for black students. Together with the newly formed majors in African and Afro-American Studies, it “acted as a center for the study of the cultural heritage of the African and Afro-American peoples." #TBT 🕰️
