For #BlackHistoryMonth, we spent time asking members of the Rutgers community how they plan to make history. Meet Marc Younker, President of Rutgers Black Law Students Association Pre-Law Division. "Since I was a child, my family taught me that with discipline and faith, I am capable of achieving anything. As a young Black man, student activist, and future attorney, I’ve come to believe that discipline and faith are not just values that are key to achieving my goals; they are key to changing the world. Audre Lorde once said, “Each of us must find our work and do it. Militancy no longer means guns at high noon if it ever did. It means actively working for change, sometimes in the absence of any surety that change is coming.” Lorde’s words remind me of Black leaders, like Ella Baker, Dr. King, Dr. Angela Davis and Bayard Rustin.
