On this day in 2014, alumna Ella Watson-Stryker (RC'02) was one of five frontline workers featured on TIME’s “Person of the Year” cover for their efforts working to save lives while helping control the Ebola outbreak. Watson-Stryker worked as a health advocate and educator for 12 hours a day, seven days a week, first in Guinea, in the core of the outbreak, and subsequently in Sierra Leone and Liberia. She and other members of Doctors Without Borders reached out to locals, soothed people's mistrust about health workers, cheered on sick kids, and consoled grieving families. #RutgersPride | #RutgersExcellence | #RURahRah ⚔️
