Today marks 92 years since Rutgers was featured on this issue of Life Magazine. Featured on the front cover is a quote from a famous Rutgers football game. When the Princeton football team breaks the leg of Rutgers' largest player, Frank "Pop" Grant, a Rutgers legend is born. "I'd die for dear old Rutgers," Pop is said to have muttered as he was carried away from the field. When the phrase was satirized in the play "High Button Shoes," it became a catchphrase for school enthusiasm and the old college try. #RutgersPride #RURahRah ⚔️
