We are delighted to announce that Blaine McCallister, Class of 2016, has joined the Texas Golf Hall of Fame Board of Directors!
The Five-time PGATour winner and University of Houston All-American golfer Blaine McCallister was inducted into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame in 2016. McCallister turned professional in 1981, winning five PGA Tour events, including the 1991 Texas Open. Over his career, he earned more than $5.2 million and achieved notable top-20 finishes in major championships.
Blaine is naturally left-handed but plays golf mix-handed. He began putting lefty in 1986, leading to all five of his PGA Tour victories. His swing coach, Charlie Epps, suggested the change to improve his putting accuracy.
Blaine’s college roommates at the University of Houston were future World No. 1 golfer Fred Couples and CBS Sports broadcaster Jim Nantz. Together, they created the Three Amigos Celebrity Golf Tournament, supporting a Cougar golf scholarship.
We're excited to have him join our Board...
