We continue our salute to #NationalHBCUWeek with a spotlight on Andre Dawson from Florida A&M University. Dawson is one of only five players in MLB history with 400+ home runs and 300+ stolen bases. An 8-time All-Star and 8-time Gold Glove Award winner, Dawson won the NL MVP Award in 1987 and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2010. Each year since 2008 MLB has hosted a round-robin tournament to highlight HBCU programs, an event now known as The Andre Dawson Classic.
