The inaugural members included Robert A. Cooke, a physician known for his work in asthma and allergy treatment (RC1900); Charles T. Cowenhoven Jr., an expert in Admiralty Law who later became the Special Master of the U.S. Supreme Court (RC1900); and Graham C. Woodruff (RC1900), the innovator behind the transportation of containers by rail. Twenty-one buildings at Rutgers University are named after alums of Cap and Skull.
