#DYKRutgers Famed abolitionist Frederick Douglass delivered an address at Plane Street Colored Church in 1849 to rally action around the abolition of slavery. The church, a bastion of early Black activism in the city, is now the site of Rutgers–Newark's Frederick Douglass Field.
