The Aspen is one of the most widespread trees in North America. Generally, trees and plants reproduce by either producing seeds or spores. The Aspen however, grows new trees from root suckers which are long roots that grow underground horizontally and send up new shoots as they spread outward. This means that new Aspen trees are clones of the original tree, making them one single organism - making the Fall season amongst the Aspen groves especially beautiful! #ThisIsArrowhead
