Week 17 delivered an incredible run of glove robberies, desperation stops, and save-of-the-year candidates as NHL goaltenders put on a show heading into the Olympic break. Philadelphia’s Dan Vladar was spectacular, flashing the glove twice against Columbus to rob Adam Fantilli and Boone Jenner, then later sprawling again to keep out a floating chance against Washington. Colorado’s MacKenzie Blackwood denied Brady Tkachuk with a full-extension glove, while Seattle’s Joey Daccord showed great effort battling through a rebound chance against Toronto. Dallas netminder Jake Oettinger stayed patient in the shootout against fellow USA Olympic teammate Jack Eichel, then later returned with a huge overtime breakaway stop on Mark Scheifele. Ilya Sorokin, Linus Ullmark, and Sergei Bobrovsky all joined the glove-save party with clean robberies on Michael Bunting, Dougie Hamilton, and Kyle Connor.
