Targets are getting concentrated at the top.
From 2000 through 2020, wide receivers produced 26 seasons with a 30% target share.
Over the last five years, they have already produced 11.
That shift showed up again in 2025:
Puka Nacua: 35.9% targets per route
Jaxon Smith-Njigba: 33.5%
Amon-Ra St. Brown: 30.4%
The position is not getting deeper. The best receivers are separating further from the WR2 and WR3 tiers.
That changes the 2026 draft plan.
Secure one elite WR early. Then attack the WR15-WR40 range instead of forcing expensive depth.
Save this for your draft prep and send it to someone still drafting receivers like it is 2020.
