The #Danish Immigration Service has recently pronounced the regime controlled governorates of Tartous and Latakia as “safe” for the return of refugees which could lead to the revocation of protection status for many #Syrian refugees in Denmark belonging to these regions. Prior to this, the immigration service also designated Damascus as safe for return. A case for two Syrians from the Latakia region will be heard before the Refugee Appeals Board on March 17 which could either overturn the assessment by the Danish Immigration Service or rule in line with it, meaning that more Syrians from these regions might face deportation.
