ماتت يقين 💔 Yaqeen Al-Akeel, only 9 months old, died in Syria’s besieged Rukban IDP camp after calls for medical assistance were repeatedly ignored. She was born with a cleft palate and needed urgent life-saving surgery outside Rukban. She had difficulty eating and breathing. For months, Yaqeen’s family called for her immediate evacuation to receive medical treatment as her condition continued to deteriorate, but their appeals were ignored. Rukban camp has been under siege by the Syrian regime and its allies for 4 years. The international community and border countries must do everything to lift the siege before another life is lost.
