For this week’s story of #HowWeMetAtRU, we have @alopipatelmd & @veerpatel1 ✨ "Veer and Alopi met in 2007 in a Social Psychology class in Hill Hall at @runewark. A trip to Newark Museum for a class project led to friendship and eventually love. Veer was the class speaker for the commencement ceremonies in 2009, and a very serendipitously caught photo (attached) remains on their nightstand to this day. They went on to Rutgers Law School and Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School, staying close by. Their love story and their love for Rutgers-Newark brought them back to Hill Hall in 2012, where Veer proposed to Alopi in the same classroom they met (attached). He sat in the same seat where he first saw her and had flowers waiting on the desk where she used to sit. And asked R-U going to marry me?
