In a town whose Hispanic population makes up almost half, it's no surprise that a few Olympians & Paralympians emerged who are as active in the Games as they are in their community. Over the next month, we'll be spotlighting these Angelenos & athletes, but today we're kicking off #HispanicHeritageMonth with Dara Torres. Dara is from Beverly Hills and at only 17 made her Swimming competition debut just down the street in the LA '84 Olympic Games. Her zip code isn't the only thing that's exclusive. After winning 12 Medals in five (5) Olympic Games, she became one of only three (3) Olympians to hold a "4x4x4" - Winning at least four (4) Medals of each color (Gold, Silver, Bronze). Today, Dara advocates for kids' water safety around the globe and is a regular sports commentator - and showing no signs of slowing down. #LA28 #DaraTorres #HispanicHeritage @usaswimming
