For this week’s story of #HowWeMetAtRU, we have @danig327 & @garrettstepien ✨ "Timing is everything. Because when we first 'met' — if you can really call it that — nothing materialized. We were taking American Presidency — a Rutgers political science course — with hundreds of other students in a lecture hall on College Ave, and both sat with a mutual friend in the same row, but that’s not where our relationship formed. A year later, in the fall of 2016, Garrett left a party at his fraternity house and headed to the Easton Ave bars. Standing out front on the sidewalk while leaving the same gathering, I recognized Garrett from class. What could’ve been a 'hi' and 'bye' turned into an all-night conversation on the front porch. The rest was history. Rutgers brought us to each other and to our best friends! Since graduating, we have endured a long-distance pandemic, moved in together in Jersey City, became Rutgers football season ticket holders, and most recently, have gotten engaged. ...
