# **Social Content Producer** 

**Location:** New York City  (Hybrid three days a week in office)

**Reports To:** Senior Social Copywriter  

**About the Role** 

Within Marketing at GEICO — a team in the middle of a real transformation — social content only works if it feels native to the platform it's living on.  

You'll independently develop social-first content for the team, from first idea to final cut. You’ll lead content capture at live events, in the field, and on the fly, not just polishing things back at a desk. You'll ideate, shoot, edit, and publish short-form video and stills across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and whatever's next, working closely with Organic Social, Paid Social, Brand, Product, and Intelligence to make sure content lands for the audience and the business. 



This role is built for someone who's genuinely plugged into internet culture and can spot a trend before it's a trend; someone who moves fast, trusts their creative instincts, and enjoys the chaos of live event capture as much as the craft of a well-edited cut. And yes, GEICO runs on humor: we want someone who knows brand-safe doesn't mean boring, and who can make people laugh with a question, a well-placed smash cut, or a well-planned campaign. 

 

**Key Responsibilities** 

**Content Development & Creation** 

* Independently develop and execute social-first content across organic social, paid media, and digital channels. 
* Generate a steady pipeline of content ideas, recurring series, and platform-native formats informed by audience behavior, social trends, business priorities, and cultural moments. 
* Build repeatable content formats and series that scale across channels while leaving room for experimentation and creator collaboration. 
* Develop content concepts and short-form scripts tailored to platform-specific best practices. 
* Produce short-form video and supporting assets optimized for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and emerging channels. 
* Capture content live at events, plus in studio, office, and field environments, using mobile devices and lightweight production equipment. 
* Direct talent, employees, creators, influencers, or subject matter experts during content production when needed. 
* Own production from concept through final delivery — filming, editing, and prepping assets for publication. 
* Manage multiple projects and deadlines while balancing quality, speed, and business priorities. 
* Content portfolio highly preferred

**Strategy & Collaboration** 

* Partner with Product, Brand, Organic Social, Paid Social, and Creative teams to understand business objectives and turn them into content solutions. 
* Contribute to creative strategy by spotting opportunities to blend audience interests, platform trends, and business messaging. 
* Help translate product priorities and campaign goals into content that's compelling and easy to understand. 
* Participate in creative reviews, content planning sessions, and campaign development discussions. 
* Present concepts, recommendations, and creative rationale to stakeholders. 

**Social Expertise & Performance Optimization** 

* Maintain a strong pulse on platform trends, emerging formats, creator behavior, and evolving social best practices. 
* Apply learnings from content performance and audience engagement to future creative decisions. 
* Work with social strategists, channel owners, and stakeholders to interpret performance insights and find optimization opportunities. 
* Monitor trends and cultural conversations to spot opportunities for real-time or reactive content. 
* Adapt quickly when performance data, audience response, or business priorities call for a change in direction. 
* Use platform insights and creative judgment to continuously sharpen content effectiveness. 

**Creative Judgment & Execution** 

* Balance creative ambition with business objectives, brand standards, compliance requirements, and stakeholder expectations. 
* Make sound decisions in fast-moving environments while juggling multiple projects and deadlines. 
* Exercise strong editorial judgment on what content should be pursued, adjusted, elevated, or deprioritized.

<u>**Annual Salary**</u>

$73,800.00 - $115,825.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.

**About the Role** 

Within Marketing at GEICO — a team in the middle of a significant transformation — social is where the brand shows up every day, in real time, in front of millions of people. Getting this right is a real competitive advantage and a must-do. 



You'll own the day-to-day stewardship of every brand social account — what publishes, when, and how it's tagged. You'll run point on collab and tagging mechanics across partner and creator content, and keep GEICO's talent and IP usage rights airtight so nothing goes out that creates risk down the line. And most critically -  you'll act as the social newsroom director: monitoring what's happening in real time, and sourcing the content — from creators, partnerships, agencies, UGC, and internal teams — that gives GEICO the best shot at showing up in the conversation, not just adjacent to it. 



This role rewards someone who's comfortable being the last line of defense on what goes live, and fast enough to seize a real-time moment before it passes. You'll have real room to shape how GEICO's social newsroom operates — the sourcing, the sign-off process, the judgment calls — not just execute someone else's playbook. 



**Key Responsibilities** 

**Social Programming & Publishing** 

* Own the publishing calendar and programming cadence across all GEICO brand social accounts, balancing always-on content with real-time opportunities 
* Serve as the final checkpoint on what publishes, ensuring content is on-brand, on-strategy, and technically ready for each platform 

**Tag, Collab & Rights Compliance** 

* Manage tag and collab mechanics for partner, creator, and co-branded content, ensuring every post meets platform and legal requirements 
* Own compliance tracking for talent and IP usage rights, maintaining clear records of what's licensed, for how long, and where it can run 
* Partner with Legal and brand partners to flag and resolve rights issues before content goes live 

**Social Newsroom & Content Sourcing** 

* Act as social newsroom director, monitoring real-time trends, news, and cultural moments relevant to GEICO 
* Source content from the most effective channels — creators, UGC, AI, agency partners, and internal teams — and route it into the publishing pipeline 
* Build and maintain a network of go-to content sources, vetting new ones as platforms and formats evolve 

**Cross-Functional Coordination & Process** 

* Facilitate communication across Social Content Strategists, Media, Legal, Creative, and Partnerships to keep social programming aligned with broader campaigns 
* Flag scheduling conflicts, rights gaps, or content gaps early and drive them to resolution 
* Maintain the trackers and tools — such as Airtable — that keep programming, tagging, and rights status visible to the whole team

* You've managed the day-to-day programming and publishing for a brand's social channels — you know what "always on" actually takes 
* You've handled tag, collab, or usage-rights mechanics for creator or partner content and know how to keep that clean without slowing production down 
* You think like a newsroom: you can spot the moment worth jumping on and know where to go source the right content fast 
* You've worked inside a business where marketing is tied directly to customer acquisition and retention, not just brand awareness 
* You've kept cross-functional teams — creative, legal, media, analytics — aligned on a fast-moving publishing calendar 
* You have a good eye for risk: you catch a rights or compliance issue before it becomes a problem 
* You treat AI fluency as core to how you work — using tools like Claude or Copilot to draft calendars and sort through content at newsroom speed 
* You want real ownership over how a brand's social presence runs day to day 

**Ideal Experience** 

* **Experience:** 8+ years managing social content programming, publishing operations, or channel management for a consumer brand or publisher  
* **Service company context:** Experience working inside a conversion-driven service business — financial services, insurance, or banking — where marketing is tied directly to customer acquisition and retention 
* **Rights & compliance:** Direct experience managing talent, influencer, or IP usage rights and tracking compliance across a fast-moving content pipeline 
* **Content sourcing:** Track record sourcing content from creators, stock services, or agency partners for real-time or newsroom-style publishing 
* **Cross-functional fluency:** Solid background partnering with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Creative, and Analytics 
* **Tools:** Proficient in Microsoft Suite and project or content management software such as Airtable; comfortable using AI tools like Claude or Copilot to stay organized; well versed in Sprinklr 
* **Communication:** Stellar written and verbal communication skills 
* **Education:** Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience 

**Strong Candidates May Also Have** 

* Extensive fluency in social platform mechanics and publishing tools — native scheduling, tagging, and analytics dashboards 
* Direct experience negotiating or administering creator and influencer contracts and usage rights 
* A genuine interest in social media and culture, with a habit of staying on top of platform trends and rights or compliance changes
