A college football head coach you need to get familiar with — Bob Chesney. Chesney is a program builder to a T. He rebuilt the Crusaders program into a northeast FCS powerhouse. In 2019 Chesney led Holy Cross to their third ever playoff birth and their first Patriot League title in 10 years. And in 2021, his Crusaders to their first ever playoff game. You commit to a school as a big time recruit but then the coach leaves —What happens now?? Let’s break it down. First there will be a time you have no clue what’s going on, there may even be a few weeks that nobody reaches out to you. Hopefully the athletic director or someone in the athletic department will reach out to let you know what’s going on. But, the biggest question is will the new staff honor the scholarship if you haven’t signed you Letter Of Intent.
